Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Lineage, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

Description of Service

Lineage is a family tree building application that allows users to create, manage, and share genealogical information about their families. The service includes features for adding family members, documenting relationships, uploading photos and documents, and visualizing family connections through interactive tree diagrams.

User Accounts

To use Lineage, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• Maintain and promptly update your account information
• Maintain the security of your password and account
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account information.

User Content and Ownership

You retain full ownership of all content you create, upload, or add to Lineage, including:

• Family member information and biographical data
• Photos, documents, and media files
• Notes, stories, and other written content

By uploading content to Lineage, you grant us a limited license to store, display, and process your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We will not share your content with third parties without your permission, except as described in our Privacy Policy.

Prohibited Content and Conduct

You agree not to upload, post, or transmit any content that:

• Is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
• Violates any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other intellectual property rights
• Contains viruses, malware, or other harmful code
• Violates the privacy or publicity rights of others
• Contains false or misleading information with intent to deceive

You also agree not to:

• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
• Use automated systems to access the service without permission
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code from our application

Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable and continuous service, but we do not guarantee that Lineage will be available at all times without interruption. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, with or without notice. We will not be liable for any service interruptions, modifications, or discontinuations.

Payments and Subscriptions

Lineage is currently free to use. In the future, we may introduce paid subscription plans or premium features. If we do, we will provide advance notice and clear pricing information. Any paid features will be subject to additional terms that will be presented to you before you make a purchase.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Lineage is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any content on the service.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lineage and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising out of or related to your use of the service.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lineage and its operators from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for violation of these Terms or for any other reason. You may also delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon termination, your right to use the service will immediately cease.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Armenia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Lineage shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Armenia.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of Lineage after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms.
